GRACE FOR A PARENT'S HEART

"It's not surprising then that parenting often comes with guilt attached.  When we get a moment to stop and think about it, we readily feel how much we've let our children down through weakness, laziness, wrong priorities and sheer selfishness.... But our parenting sins are addressed by God in the same way as all our sin - by grace.... Perfection will crush you.  Grace brings rest."

Join us at the Thursday Moms Group this week as we discuss Chapter 4 of our study, 'Grace for a parent's heart.' based on Luke 18:9-14.  Here are some questions for reflection:

  • Can you remember the ideals you had when you were expecting your first child?

  • What do you feel guilty about as a parent?

  • How do your children see you deal with sin and failure?  How does it reflect the gospel?

  • Over what parenting issues do you need to repent?  Over what parenting issues do you need to trust the grace of God?

  • Read Romans 5:1-2.  How can we apply this to our parenting?

We will meet this Thursday March 01 from 9.30 - 11.30am at 2/F Island ECC.  Refreshments and childcare provided.  Newcomers always welcome!
